Here&#8217;s what I do from the shell prompt to rename a bunch of files in a PictsFolder.<\/p>\n<p>Create a file called rename.sh<br \/>\n<pre><code class=\"preserve-code-formatting\">\n#!\/bin\/bash\ncd \/Users\/gmiller\/Desktop\/PictsFolder\nmv 1.png a.png\nmv 2.png b.png\nexit\n<\/code><\/pre><\/p>\n<p>chmod it to be executable. I use <b><span class=\"monospaced\"> chmod 777 rename.sh<span><\/b> because I&#8217;m lazy.
